What it is
Tribe Biwa Tea is a traditional Japanese loose leaf herbal tea made from the wild harvested leaves of the evergreen loquat tree, also known as Japanese Plum. It is caffeine free and suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
How it helps
This tea is made from the Boshu variety of Biwa tree, native to the Minamiboso area of the Chiba Prefecture in Japan. Boshu Biwa fruits have been presented to the Japanese Imperial Family every year since nineteen hundred and nine. The freshly picked leaves are cut into strips in the traditional tanzaku-giri style for optimal brewing.
Biwa tea has been enjoyed in Japan for at least one thousand five hundred years as a mild and pleasant everyday drink, valued for its traditional benefits, including helping to support skin prone to eczema.
