What it is
PQQ (pyrroloquinoline quinone) is a nutrient best known for its relationship with mitochondria, the tiny power plants within our cells that produce energy. It can help support mitochondrial function and the formation of new mitochondria, making it a valuable nutrient for energy, brain health and healthy ageing.
How it helps
PQQ is an enzyme cofactor, first discovered in 1964. Enzyme cofactors are molecules that help enzymes work properly. PQQ is said to be the first nutrient found to promote the growth of new mitochondria in your cells, a process called mitochondriogenesis.
PQQ also promotes nerve growth factor (NGF) in brain cells, which can help support the growth of new neurons, brain cell repair and neuroplasticity.
PQQ and NADH together
PQQ and NADH make a complementary pairing because they support mitochondrial energy in different ways. PQQ supports the number and function of the mitochondria themselves, while NADH helps those mitochondria produce the energy your cells need. PQQ also works in synergy with CoQ10. You can find NADH in our shop.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why are the capsules brown tan when PQQ is white?
The capsules are a brown tan colour because natural rice bran is used as the carrier instead of maltodextrin. Maltodextrin is highly processed and high on the glycaemic index, so rice bran offers a more natural alternative.
