What it is
The Candida Mycobiome Profile Test is a straightforward stool test and a simple way to assess the candida profile within an individual's gastrointestinal tract.
How it helps
Candida has been linked to many symptoms and conditions, but it cannot be identified through symptoms alone, as they are so varied and extensive. It has been associated with many things, from bloating and indigestion to chronic fatigue syndrome and arthritis, so testing is a vital step to identify candida accurately.
This test can be performed as an initial test or as a retest panel after a comprehensive stool test such as the GI Pro Ultimate Gut Test. If candida is suspected, it is often recommended to perform a stool test first, to assess the overall health of the gut along with the presence of candida.
What the test measures
Mycobiome: relevant yeasts
- Candida albicans (CA)
- Candida krusei (CK)
- Candida glabrata (CG)
- Candida dubliniensis (CD)
- Candida parapsilosis (CP)
- Candida tropicalis (CTp)
- Candida lusitaniae (CL)

About the laboratory: Biovis Diagnostik
Biovis Diagnostik is a laboratory specialising in gut health testing, offering microbiome analysis and SIBO testing. It uses 16s rRNA sequencing technology and qPCR testing to give detailed information about gastrointestinal health. Biovis is one of the only laboratories to quantify results by writing the colony form in units, as opposed to percentages only, which allows a deeper understanding of bacterial samples.
